Making an appointment
Please telephone us at 8 o’clock on the day you wish to be seen.
We have a limited number of pre-bookable appointments on a Tuesday evening with two clinicians – these appointments are popular with patients who are unable to attend during core hours.
When you request an appointment, our staff will ask for more information to ensure you are given an appointment with the most appropriate person, however, if you prefer not to give more information that is ok too.
For new problems, you will be given a 15 minute appointment with one of our Nurse Practitioners (Angela or Sarah), they will assess you and deal with your problem appropriately, however, if they feel that the problem actually is of a more complex nature, we have a GP at hand ready to offer support/take over your care - you will always see the most appropriate person.
You can also decide - when booking an appointment, whether you would like a face to face appointment or whether we can deal with your problem by telephone - for example, if you wish to discuss a result/medication or an ongoing problem that the GP is aware of - this could be dealt with by phone (if you are unsure, the receptionist can help if you if you give them more information) which means that you don’t have to travel to the practice.
If you do not feel that you want to discuss your problem with the receptionist; this is fine, you do not have to - you just need to decide yourself whether you need a face-to-face consultation or not.
Medication Requests and Sicknote Requests do not need a GP appointment - staff will take details and pass the request to the GP to deal with after surgery. Sicknotes can be back-dated.
Sarah and Angela, our Nurse Practitioners can deal with a wide range of problems, some of which, you may have previously seen a GP with. They both can prescribe and can deal with day to day problems such as coughs, colds, chest problems, asthma problems, urine infections, ear problems etc. as well as being able to deal with more complex issues needing a referral for further investigation.
Angela & Sarah have a wealth of experience in Primary Care and have both previously worked independently in the community as Community Matrons and have experience in dealing with more complex cases.
Practice Clinical Pharmacist
Tony is our Practice Clinical Pharmacist, he deals with queries from patients regarding their medication, he works with the Prescribing Clerks in managing our Repeat Medication System.
Tony can also prescribe and review medication. He also sees patients on a daily basis to treat minor ailments.

Online Appointment Booking
To book online you will need to contact the surgery to register - then you will be sent a login and password. Once you receive your passwords you need to search on the internet for the-manor-house-surgery.appointments-online.co.uk then you will be available to book a number of appointments available. You will need to bring some form of ID with you when registering for online services.

Out of Hours care - telephone NHS 111 by dialing '111' on your telephone - you will be directed to the most appropriate care provider or given advice
GP Opening Hours have been extended for all Practices in the South of Tees CCG area -To improve Primary Care Services outside of normal hours; patients can now access the South Tees Access and Response (STAR) Service.
