Configure Appointment Details

 

You decide - when booking an appointment, whether you would like a face to face appointment or whether we can deal with your problem by telephone - for example, if you wish to discuss a result/medication or an ongoing problem that the GP is aware of - this could be dealt with by phone (if you are unsure, the receptionist can help if you if you give them more information) which means that you don’t have to travel to the practice.

If you do not feel that you want to discuss your problem with the receptionist; this is fine, you do not have to - you just need to decide yourself whether you need a face-to-face consultation or not.

Medication requests and sicknote requests do not need a GP appointment - staff will take details and pass the request to the GP to deal with after surgery.  Sicknotes can be back-dated.

Nurse Practitioners

Sarah, Sophie and Annette, our Nurse Practitioners can deal with a wide range of problems, some of which, you may have previously seen a GP with.  They both can prescribe and can deal with day to day problems such as coughs, colds, chest problems, asthma problems, urine infections, ear problems etc. as well as being able to deal with more complex issues needing a referral for further investigation. 

Annette, Sophie & Sarah have a wealth of experience in Primary Care and have both previously worked independently in the community as Community Matrons and have experience in dealing with more complex cases.

Online Appointment Booking

 

To book online you will need to contact the surgery to register - then you will be sent a login and password.  Once you receive your passwords you need to search on the internet for https://www.patientaccess.com/ then you will be able to book a number of appointments available. You will need to bring some form of ID with you when registering for online services.

STAR Service- Extended Access

GP opening hours have been extended for all Practices in the South of Tees CCG area -To improve Primary Care Services outside of normal hours; patients can now access the South Tees Access and Response (STAR) Service.  

To see or speak to a clinician urgently between 18:00 – 21:30 Monday - Friday or 08:00 – 21:30 weekends  & bank holidays please ring 111

During normal hours, please continue to contact Manor House Surgery.

Home Visits

Although GPs are not contracted to provide a 'Home Visiting' service; The Manor House Surgery continues to visit:

  • The terminally ill
  • Genuinely Housebound Patients
  • Patients too ill to attend because travelling by car would cause deterioration in their medical condition or unacceptable discomfort

If you feel a home visit is appropriate - please telephone the surgery before 10.30 am and give the receptionist as much information as possible to enable the GP to allocate priority to visits.

Please remember that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it takes to make one home visit. 

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient. If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.
